Read Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV in your Bible
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
This verse contains part of a powerful message to God's people, the Israelites. Moses was 120 years old when he spoke these words as some of his last words to his people before he died and passed on the leadership position to Joshua. Even though Moses knew he was in his last days on Earth, he was such an example of courage and bravery for the people. He told them that they had nothing to be afraid of because God would continue to go with them even though he would no longer be their leader. He reminded them that God would never leave them or abandon them no matter what they might face.
- That same God who Moses said would be with the Israelites back in the Old Testament, is the same God we follow today. How cool is that? You might be facing some new fears right now that you never really had before. Maybe you are more afraid than usual of getting sick and catching other people's germs. You might even be worried about whether or not your friends and family members will be safe. Fear and worry cannot change what is going to happen, but God can! He promises to be with us, to comfort us, and to listen to us when we pray. Give Him your fears and worries and allow Him to take care of you.
1. Read 2 Timothy 1:7 and remember that you have the power of the Holy Spirit living inside of you.
2. Write down ways you can be strong and have courage this week.
3. Pray and ask God to take your fears and worries and replace them with His power and courage.
